Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to be tested on children

14 February, 2021

A trial is to test the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on children.

In late February, the first vaccination of the trial is to take place with 300 volunteers. The volunteers are aged from six to seventeen.

The children who live near University of Oxford, St. George’s University Hospital London, University Hospital Southampton and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children - are being asked to sign up for volunteering. However, those who are interested in taking part need to complete a short questionnaire.

The University of Oxford said that it was the first trial of a Covid vaccine in the six to 17 age group.
