Prevailing showery condition is expected to continue further over Northern and Eastern parts of the country, state the Department of Meteorology.
Showers will occur at times in Northern, Eastern, North-Central, Central and Uva provinces and in Hambanthota district. Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa, Mathale Nuwara-eliya and Hambanthota districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 1.00 p.m. and heavy falls above 100mm can be expected at some places.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
