
Former Sri Lanka and CR and FC full back Zubair Doray died on Friday at the age of 58.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Zubair Deen Doray. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends”, Sri Lanka Rugby secretary Jude Pillai said in a media statement yesterday.
Sri Lanka Rugby president Rizly Illyas and Council Members also expresses their sincere condolences on the death of Doray who also a Sevens exponent and was one of the mentors in the rise of Wesley College that he represented in rugby, cricket and hockey.
His son Murshid Zubair, a junior Sri Lanka player, captained Wesley in 2019 and currently plays for CR and FC.
