Randika Pieris and Charith Wijeratne emerged champions at the Doubles Challenge badminton tournament last week at the Fingara Sports Club.
The Doubles Challenge was held in the double eliminating draw system to uplift competitive spirit.
Former Doubles national Champions Ramindu Ranasinghe, Clarence Holmer and Thanuja Liyanage partnered with Duminda Somanayake, Nihan Ranasinghe and Susil Karunatne respectively.
Past National players Amila Yatapahana partnered Vetaran champion Dharshana Searatne while Charith Wijeratne partnered Masters Randika Peiris.
Current over-50 veteran singles and doubles champion Nihal Amarasena partnered Laksara Aravinda while Romesh Samaranayake partnered Susil again, making a strong doubles pair.

Winners Semifinals: Charith and Randika beat Ramindu and Duminda 2-0, Thanuja and Susil beat Clarence Holmer and Nihan 2-1.
Losers semifinals: Ramindu and Duminda were defeated by Susil and Romesh 2-1 while Laksara and Nihal beat Clarence Holmer and Nihan 2-0,
