The Sri Lanka Badminton Association (SLBA) has planned to conduct a tournament similar to the Lanka Premier League in cricket that will offer the national players much needed games of competitive level.
The League that is scheduled to commence on December 16, will see about 70 players in the national pool in action. They will be divided into five teams who will play each other to reach the top.
The SLBA is awaiting the approval of the Health Ministry to go ahead of the tournament. The national pool players have been practicing for over seven months now without any competition and the need to organize this tournament, said an official of SLBA. (TBR)
