Sri Lanka to host Asia Cup in June

6 December, 2020

Sri Lanka will be the host of the Asia Cup cricket championship in June next year.

Pakistan was to host the Asia Cup in 2020 which could not be done due to the coronavirus.

With Sri Lanka now given the rights to host the Asia Cup in 2021, Pakistan will host the event in 2022 according to the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board Wasim Khan.

“The next Asia Cup will be hosted in Sri Lanka in June and we have got hosting rights now for the 2022 Asia Cup,” Khan was quoted by the PTI as saying.

It is still not clear whether India will contest the 2022 Asia Cup in Pakistan with geo-political relations between the two countries dropping to a low level.
