The cyclonic storm ‘BUREVI’ has weakened into a Deep depression and located about 143 km to the west-northwest of Mannar at around 02.30 a.m. today, stated the Department of Meteorology.
It is moving further away from the country. Hence the influence of this system is expected to be gradually reduced.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central and North western provinces. Heavy rainfall above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Northern, and North-western provinces and in Anuradhapura district.
Several spells of showers may occur in Western, sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Wind speed can be increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in Northern, North-Central and north western, provinces.
