
Muditha Lakshan the skipper of D.S. Senanayake College Colombo has passed the 1000 runs milestone for the second successive year in the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under-19 Division One Schools Cricket (Two day) tournament.
Right hand batsman and left arm leg spinner Muditha Lakshan commenced his cricket career at D.S. Senanayake and scored only 200 runs with 15 wickets in the under-13 level. He scored 350 runs and took 38 wickets in two seasons in the under-15 level and reached 470 runs with 35 wickets in the under-17 season. He scored 500 runs and took 70 wickets in the 2016/2017 season as a second year player and aggregated 850 runs and claimed 67 wickets in the 2017/2018.
He improved his performances scoring 1318 runs with four centuries and claimed 57 wickets in the 2018/2019 season.
Lakshan piled up 1034 runs in 21 innings with four centuries and three half centuries this season with an unbeaten 203 runs against Thurstan.
He scored centuries against Maris Stella, St. Joseph’s and Royal and claimed more than 40 wickets.
He also represented the Sri Lanka under-19 team against India in 2018.
