The websites of two Government agencies came under a cyber attack on May 30 morning , said the Cyber Security Centre of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
Accordingly, the official websites of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government and the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) were hit by the cyber attack. Earlier this month, several Sri Lankan websites containing the domain name .lk and .com fell victim to a cyber-attack that targeted the war hero commemoration.
The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) and the SLAF Cyber Security Centre subsequently took measures to rectify the situation.
The SLCERT had said cyber attacks targetting the war hero commemoration had taken place during the past few years.
