A full time boxing coach from overseas is to be appointed by the Amateur Boxing Association of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka currently does not have a permanent boxing coach.
A head coach was appointed just for the South Asian Games held in December last year.
Meanwhile the Amateur Boxing Association has also decided to hold its AGM on August 31 in keeping with a Sports Ministry ruling and all present officials are expected to seek reelection to their posts.
The ABA is currently headed by Dion Gomes.
Sri Lanka is also looking at deploying its boxers to contest the Asian championships in India in September and a pool is to be finalised. (DR)
