The Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing facilities Ministry, Environment Police, Port City Project, Wana Arana Foundation, Municipal Council- Dehiwlea –Mount Lavinia, Municipal Council of Colombo, Coast Conservation Department, Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Police Departments of Dehiwela, Mt Lavinia and Wellawatte have come together to keep the Lankan shores clean for one year, from January 2020.
The project was launched with a beach cleaning day event yesterday at the beach front of Berjaya Hotel, Mt Lavinia, under the patronage of Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing Facilities Ministry Secretary Dr. (Eng) Priyath Banduwickarama.
Beaches north of Mt. Lavinia will be cleaned and maintained under the project.
