The 34th District Conference of Inner Wheel District 322 Sri Lanka International Women’s Organization was held under the patronage of District Chairperson Diana Rahuman in Colombo. International President Phyllis Charter was the chief guest at the event.
More than 100 members participated and submitted their proposals and projects.
Chief guest Phyllis Charter said the International Inner Wheel is a wonderful organization with more than 105 member countries and was the world’s largest Women’s Voluntary Service Organisation.
This year’s theme - Together We Can - would encourage to continue working together enjoying friendships and prove that the Inner Wheel members can achieve their dreams and help others achieve theirs. The 2020 Conference will be held at Jaipur, India, while the South Asia Rally in Dhaka, Bangladesh is scheduled for March 2020.
Inner wheel is one of the largest International Women’s Voluntary Service Organisations which concentrates on friendship and service to the community. It is not what is termed a money raising organisation but each Club selects its own charities and channels of service.
