Kandy SC will begin the defence of their inter club League rugby title with an opening match against Air Force at Nittawela today. Both teams will deploy their best players in their first outing but Kandy are favourites to win today especially playing on their home ground although Air Force have the ability to spring a surprise as they have done in the past.
The match will also expose how both teams had prepared to face the new season which is expected to pose new challenges for all eight teams in the running.
In the past 20 years Kandy have been going from strength to strength and are also favourites to retain the trophy for another year running.
