The British Council conducts Literature workshops

24 November, 2019

Recently, over a weekend, over three hundred students had the benefit of the exclusive Literature workshops conducted by the British Council for G.C.E. Ordinary Level students taking the local syllabus. The British Council has been conducting these workshops to support students for almost ten consecutive years, and this year’s resource personnel included Ranjith Hemachandra for Poetry and Drama, and Sanjeevanie Bandara for Drama and the Novel.

The workshops are conducted free of charge primarily for students who are members of the British Council Library as part of its membership offering, though limited slots are made available to the public for a fee.

Students who attended the workshops commented stating the following: “Everything was so good. I learned a lot of things. I hope the British Council will conduct more useful seminars. Good job.” and “It was a very good workshop. I learned many things by it.”

Much of the feedback appreciated the opportunity the workshops afforded for revision of the syllabus, as well as the helpful tips and strategies for approaching the answer formats.

The British Council continues to review and refresh its library, offering events and programs for library members and the public in general.
