Lyceum International (Wattala) and Musaeus College (Colombo) emerged Boys and Girls A Division champions respectively at the Sri Lanka Schools Under-13 Doubles Badminton Championship 2019 which concluded on a high note last weekend.
At the tournament which saw more than 1600 young players in action at the Municipal Indoor Sports Complex in Kandy, Lyceum International defeated Richmond in the Boys’ A Division final.
In the girls’ A division, Sujatha Vidyalaya, Matara secured the runner-up spot.
P de S Kularathna M V, Ambalangoda, St. Joseph’s College Colombo, Bandaranayaka College, Gampaha and Lyceum International, Gampaha also emerged victorious in their respective divisions in the boys’ category.
In the girls’ category, Royal International, Kurunegala, Lyceum International, Wattala, Sumedha College, Gampaha and Methodist High School, Moratuwa were the winners in other divisions.
The three-day tournament was organised by Sri Chandananda Buddhist College, Kandy, under the supervision and assistance of the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association (SLSBA).
