Royal retain TT title at National School Games

Royal College’s table tennis team ended as champions at the National School Games for the second successive year at the Kandy Municipality indoor stadium.

Royal entered the tournament as Western Province champions and on their way to the final they beat Kingswood College 3-1 in the quarter finals, Vidyartha College 3 – 0 in semi finals and beat the strong Dharmaraja College 3-0 in the final. Nimesh Ranchagoda was adjudged the best player of the tournament for the second successive year while their under 17 team were narrowly beaten by the strong Dharmasoka College 3-2.
