Afghanistan demolish Kuwait by seven wickets

8 September, 2019

Afghanistan chasing a paltry target of 86, effortlessly eased to a convincing seven-wicket win after their bowlers had set the stage over Kuwait in their Group-A match of the Under-19 Asia Cup at the Premadasa in Colombo stadium yesterday.

Though the winners lost two quick wickets on the verge of their second-straight win, they were all set of a convincing victory after the bowlers enjoyed a feast.

Afghanistan winning the toss and asking their counterparts to bat first, made the most never letting the opposition off the hook and frequently made in-roads and were all over the Kuwaitis.

Ghafari was the pick of the bowlers picking up three for twelve, including three maiden overs as Kuwait managed to muster only 85.

Brief scores:

Kuwait: 85 in 27.3 overs. (M Bhavsar 20, S Ghafari 3-12, N Ahmad 2-18, F Haque 2-21)

Afghanistan: 86 for 3 (F Zakhil 38, Rahmanullah 28, A Nair 1-24)
