The prefects investiture of Ananda Daham Pasala was held at the Vihara Mandiraya of Ananda College, Colombo 10 recently. The Deputy Principal M.S.K. Gunathilake, Assistant Principal A.S. Rohitha and President of the Senior Old Boys’ Association Ranjan Jayawardana were present.
The event was presided over by the Principal of Ananda Daham Pasala, Ven. Moneragala Pannasara Thera. The 21 prefects who were appointed for the years 2019-2020 including three Head Prefects Thenula Jasinghe, Vineth Wicramarathne and Heshan Wijesiri took oaths. The oath was administered by 2017-2018 Head Prefect Ninura Gunasekara. Ananda Daham Pasala was initiated by the 81 Group of Ananda College in 2004. Its main objective is to provide Sunday dhamma education to hostellers of Ananda College. At present any student from Buddhist boys’ schools can join the Daham Pasala.
Ananda Daham Pasala has a mass media unit which enriches the announcing skills of students. Presently the daham pasala is conducted by Anandians and non-Anandians who see it as a sublime duty to serve and empower the Buddhist community.
