
Sri Lanka Emerging Cricket team led by all rounder Charith Asalanka really performed well during their South Africa tour when they became champions at the Triangular one day series and the South Africa Emerging team and University Sports of South Africa.
Former paceman Chaminda Vaas was appointed as head coach of the Emerging team and he had a good preparation period before this tour. Most of these players are knocking on the door for National recognition and used this opportunity to display their talent on South African soil.
Sri Lankan Emerging team skipper Asalanka, opener Pathum Nissanka, Shammu Ashan, Ashen Bandara and Ramesh Mendis were among the runs in this tournament while Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Madusanka and Chamika Karunaratne the three pacemen and spinner Amila Aponsu were among the wickets during this series.
In fact Madusanka took four wickets in the final against University Sports of South Africa and was adjudged man of the final.
