The George Keyt Foundation will hold the 23rd edition of its annual exhibition ‘Nawa Kalakaruwo’ from July 16 -21. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10am to 6 pm at the J. D. A. Perera Gallery, University of Visual and Performing Arts, No. 46, Horton Place, Colombo 7. The George Keyt Foundation has encouraged promising artists with the Nawa Kalakaruwo (Emerging Young Artists) exhibition since 1998, offering an opportunity for them to exhibit their paintings and build up a rapport with the public.
‘Nawa Kalakaruwo’ celebrates the work of both established and emerging contemporary Sri Lankan artists.
The George Keyt Foundation has also been able to provide platforms for new artists through various ventures and later seen the emergence of new artists and increasing numbers of participants. For years, the George Keyt Foundation has paved the way for emerging artists by providing them opportunities to exhibit their work, build a relationship with the public and get to know the local art scene.
This year, ‘Nawa Kalakaruwo’ features many artists who have exhibited before and some exhibiting for the first time.
