Three books launched in Brisbane

Four Sri Lankan authors launched three books written by them recently in Brisbane to a packed audience of Sri Lankan people at the Forest Lake community house. Wadanambi Jasinghe’s novel, Kammale Donkaraya Eva Wickramage’s Raaja Kumari Pathala Gemburu Sauru mathin a translation of poems by Rohan Weerasakera and Piyasiri Pelenda were the four books introduced. The chief guest at the event was the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Brisbane, Anton Swan. Actress of the original cast of Singhabahu, Malani Ranasinghe and Dr. Kanchnamala Ranasinghe, Mithila Wanigathunga entertained the crowd with songs sung by them.

Senior lecturer at Peradeniya University Nimal Wijesiri and Dr Nimal Sedera gave a description of the books, while Prof Rohan Jayasingha made the vote of thanks.

The event was conducted by Dr Nimal Sedera. Picture shows authors Wadanambi Jayasinghe and Eva Wickramage arriving to present the first copies to the chief guest.
