We are groping blindly in darkness
Like a pack of asses in harness;
What we’re doing we care less,
Of where we’re heading, regardless!
Two millennia plus six hundred years
Have elapsed since
He removed the fears
Of suspicion based on craving and mere
Fallacy of becoming the superior.
We have underwent capitalism;
We have a touch of socialism!Most favour popular democracy
‘Cos they abhor autocracy!
Yet nothing has proved to be the panacea
For the menaces of this land in Asia.
Then why we’re still numb to the Medium Path
He had shown for humanism!
Sigalovada sutta gives the guidance
How a person should respect the other;
Fair play leads to peace and accordance;
Buddhist Democracy will calm the weather!
