The 27th edition of Fox Hill Super Cross had to be called off after the completion of only 11 events due to the unstable situation in the country as well as the heavy rains that prevailed in Diyatalawa last Sunday.
The organizers were able to conduct only three championship events the under 16 MX Racing Motor Bikes up to 65 to 85cc, MX Motor Bikes 125cc 2/T and up to 250cc 4/T events.
Kesara Godage the 14 year old youngster was the most outstanding performer on this day winning two motor cycle events and also drove a 1000cc and 1300 car to record victories showing that he is a dual purpose young motor sports star in the making. The one and only most important Motor Cycle Championship event which was worked off on this day saw Chanaka Jayana Sandaruwan outclass favorite Evon Gurusinghe and Madura Peiris to collect points for the championship.
In this race it was Gurusinghe who was in front for two laps with Jayana and Madura following him. At this stage Jayana using all experience and skills got past him and kept his leadership position until he reached the finishing line.
The Super Motard event was won by Deshan Solanki ahead of Chamin and ALN Adikari as the 27th ‘Fox Hill Super Cross’ marked a very sad and unpleasant day for all participants and spectators who gathered in large numbers to witness a day of high class racing from drivers and riders.
