Swarna Wickremasinghe presenting a gift to the Eldest inmate of the Home, 92-year-old D.M. Gunasekera.
The annual New Year Festival at the Udunuwara Elders’ Home in Gelioya, was held on April 20. The Matron of the Elders’ Home, G. M. Sujatha Kumari Gunaratne participated in the event with 40 elders, both, men and women.
This Elders’ Home is managed by the Department of Social Services, and is monitored by the Provincial Secretary of the Udunuwara Provincial Office, Madhawa Warnakulasuriya. Social Service Officer, Namalie Gajanayake was also present, together with the other invitees. Many children were present with their parents.
The event was organized and sponsored by the proprietors of Sarasaviya Book Shop, Gampola, Vajira and Swarna Wickremasinghe.
