M. I. Mohamed Riyal’s maiden effort on a book of poems has been released, containing 11 short poems. In a comment, Natheera Iqbal states the poet speaks about the neglected characters by our society. ‘His poems echo a criticism of our personal life, except for some shortcomings and the repetition of certain words’, she says.

Riyal residing at Maruthamunai has been offering a great deal of contribution towards the sector of arts and literature since his young days. He has gained popularity in the literary world by writing numerous stories and short stories. Even today his poems are being published in the electronic and the printing media.

He obtained an English language certificate at the South Eastern University, and computer training at the Sri Lanka Institute of Administration (SLIDA). Riyal worked at the Pottuvil Divisional Secretariat as an English Language computer clerk and has experience in the administrative sector. Thereafter, he acquired experience by serving at the Education Department and the Irrigation Department.
