The Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya, will host the fourth International Conference for Accounting Researchers and Educators (ICARE) 2018 on the theme ‘Digital Disruption to Digital Readiness: The Future of Accountancy Profession’, at the Commerce and Management Studies Faculty auditorium, University of Kelaniya on November 30.
The keynote speaker will be Director, Centre for Sustainability Governance, School of Governance and Associate Prof. University of South Australia, Sumit Lodhia while Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Prof. D.M. Semasingha will be the chief guest.
The digital revolution is stirring accounting and auditing with accounting professionals witnessing significant changes in digitalisation. The concept of digital disruption to digital readiness will create mega trends in the accountancy profession ensuring an accountant becomes a transformational leader adopting the latest technology. The conference will support accounting and finance professionals on a journey that addresses the impact of digital disruption on the profession.
ICARE provides a platform to both academia and practitioners to share their knowledge and experience to broaden the horizons of the accounting discipline.The conference will be chaired by the Head, Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya, Dr. K.K.Thilakasiri and co-chaired by Senior Lecturer, Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya, Ms. U.L.T.P. Gunasekara. Senior Lecturer, Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya, Dr. Nisansala Wijekoon will be the Secretary to the conference.
In the context of lacuna of accounting researches, for the fourth International conference, the Department of Accountancy received several papers representing local and foreign researchers.The selected papers in different categories will be published in the online Journal of Accounting Researchers and Educators.
This will be a great avenue to all researchers to publish their research output to the world and to be recognised as renowned research scholars.
