Nine elite teams have been invited to participate in the Volleyball Championship organized by Ratnapura District Volleyball Association in partnership with Ayagama Wathukaragama Friendship Society to be held on October 14 at the Saman SC courts Ayagama.
The championship will be played as a day/night tournament.
The teams invited to participate are Army, Air Force, Navy, Ports Authority, Police, National Youth Services Council, Ceylon Electricity Board, Sarath Gem SC, Kuruwita and TJ Lanka.
The winners of the championship will be awarded a Trophy and cash award of Rs. 50,000 while the runners-up is to receive Rs. 30,000 plus a Trophy according to the organisers.
In addition to two main awards there will be special cash awards for Best Setter, Best Spiker and the Best Player of the Tournament.
