Conference on communal and ethnic harmony

The Second Regional Conference of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communal and Religious Harmony in Sri Lanka will be held at Hotel Monty, Ampara, tomorrow (October 01) chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and attended by Most Ven. Mahanayaka and Anunayaka theras, clergy belonging to all other religions, Ministers and Members of Parliament representing all the political parties and senior government officials.

Many topics of regional importance on the national and religious co-existence in Sri Lanka will be discussed at this conference themed ‘National and Religious Harmony towards Sustainability of Sri Lanka’. The significance of this Conference is that this is the first Regional Conference conducted after establishing the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communal and Religious Harmony in Sri Lanka.

Provincial level politicians representing the Eastern Province, certain public officials and the Chief of Staff and Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Neil Iddawala will also participate.
