Malik the Patron
There has been a change at the AGM of Kandy SC where ‘Mr Rugby’ Malik Samarawickrema has been brought in as patron replacing Dharmasiri Madugalle.
Madugalle, the oldest living Kandy Sports Club rugby player and captain, was earlier Trustee on two occasions. His name was given by the Kandy SC office staff to the media before the AGM and after the AGM a different name had come to light.
This time there is a newcomer to the Committee as one of the Trustees. He is former St. Joseph’s College player Harin Fernando a sports loving Minister of Digital Infrastructure.
Ranjith Page of Cargills Food City fame is also one of the Trustees. He too has given a big hand through sponsorships.
No sports but liquor, food and rooms

A liquor licence can be obtained for a less amount when registered under a sports club.
