Two Under 15 cricketers from Dharmaraja College made history by posting a double century stand for the first wicket against Maliyadeva Model School in an inter school match.
Skipper of Dharmaraja Sachintha Dissanayake scored an unbeaten century with 16 fours facing 87 balls and was associated in a first ever double century opening partnership with Yasiru Gamaarachchi who scored 93 with 16 fours facing 97 balls.
In an earlier match against Sandalankawa MV the same pair associated in a partnership of 164 runs for the second wicket as Dissanayake made 89 and Gamaarachchi chipped in with 60. None of the Maliyadeva Model School players were able to reach double figures and were all out for 43 in reply to Dharmaraja’s first innings score of 207 for 1.
