Win-less Dharmaraja College created a major upset by beating Vidyartha College by 29 points to 24 after trailing 0-24 at half time in their inter school League rugby match for the Plate at the Bogambara stadium in Kandy yesterday. Dharmaraja’s points came off three goals, one try and one penalty while Vidyartha scored two goals and two tries. Vidyartha dominated the entire first half but caved in when Dharmaraja made a spectacular return to turn tables in the second half with a fine all-round effort to win the applause of the crowd.
St. Benedict’s College came close to causing an upset as they drew 29-29 their inter-school League rugby match against Sri Sumangala for the Bowl at Digana yesterday. The Bens scored their points from three goals, one try and a penalty while Sri Sumangala scored three tries and two goals.
