The Gazette notification setting out the subjects and functions of the recently appointed Ministers will be released this week, Secretary to the President, Austin Fernando said speaking to the SundayObserver. Addressing the concerns regarding its delay Fernando said a serious study is being done on ensuring the rationalization of ministerial subjects and functions.
“It is a process that must be done carefully as some Ministries have been broken down in to subjects while others have been combined” he said adding that therefore the procedure will take a few days. “But it will be gazetted within the week” he assured.
