Sculptor-cum-artist Asoka Sisira Kumara Jayawardene’s carved mega lantern which depicts the story of ‘Patachara’ is on public display from today, April 29 till May 15 at the Ratmalana Railway Sports Ground.
The parent lantern has 14 satellites with 84 small lanterns, illuminated with around 6000 electric bulbs.
Over 20,000 people are expected to view the lantern daily, the organisers said.
