St.Anne’s College and Maliyadeva College, the two leading schools at cricket in the North Western Province will play their 23rd one-day encounter called the Battle of the Rocks at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala today. They will contest the Damro Trophy. Incidentally St Anne’s College celebrates its 150th anniversary while Maliyadeva College is into its 130th year in existence.
In the series so far Maliyadeva has recorded 12 wins while St. Anne’s have won 11matches.
Maliyadeva has played 15 matches so far this season and have recorded one outright win. Dulaj Ranatunga a fifth year player leads the Maliyadeva side. St. Anne’s on the other hand played 11 matches and won three games outright. There are four centurions in the Annites team that is led by fifth year player Randeer Ranasinghe.
