No increase in CPC oil prices

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) chairman, Dhammika Ranathunga, told the Sunday Observer, that they will not increase fuel prices at present or in the near future.

Concerns over fuel price increses at Ceypetco outlets rose with its private counterpart, the Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) increasing fuel prices with effect from yesterday.

“Lanka IOC could not bear any further losses and, therefore, company decided to marginally increase the selling prices. Still, full losses have not been passed on to the customers, the communiqué read.

Accordingly, the price of a 92 Octane petrol litre was increased by Rs. 9, is now Rs. 126, while the price of a litre of diesel was increased by Rs. 5, is now Rs. 100. The prices of 95 Octane petrol and Super Diesel was not revised.
