Appeal for help

Ganesh Illuppitiya of No. 32/6 B, Moratumulla East, Moratuwa heart surgery four years ago followed by another recently. Due to drug poisoning, he lost his sight in one eye and now both his kidneys have failed.

Dr. A.L.M. Nazar, Consultant Nephrologist, National Hospital, Colombo, has advised kidney transplant (Blood group O or B type) at the earliest. At present, he is on dialysis on every 4 days.

A father of three daughters he was a three-wheeler driver earlier and they now live on the earnings of his wife who has a self-employed cart.

Illupitiya appeals for a kidney and appeal to the generous public to cover his medical expenses, to credit to his wife’s account, Mrs. Mano Shanthi Ranadheera, A/c No. 1-0125-88-04141, Moratumulla branch of the National Savings Bank.

K.W. Mallika (53) of Siri Sevana, Dangala, Alapaladeniya, is suffering from end-stage renal failure and needs kidney transplant which is estimated to cost around Rs. 2 million.

Her husband D.K.C. Jayasinghe, a Samurdhi Development Officer in Pitabedara, is unable to meet the cost and the couple appeals to the generous public for help.

Contributions could be remitted to A/c 060200190012783, People’s Bank, Morawaka branch. They also make an appeal for a donor for

a kidney (Blood group A positive or A negative).

S.A.M.S. Hasanga Senanayake, one-and-a-half-year-old son of S.A.M.S.U. Abeysinghe of Meewellewa, has been diagnosed with thalassaemia and has been recommended bone marrow transplant.

The surgery is estimated to cost Rs. 7.3 million.

Abeysinghe is unable to meet the cost and appeals to the generous public for financial help.
