Two awards for Kandyan Arts Residency

A renowned star class property on Peradeniya Road in Kandy, the Kandyan Arts Residency – well known over the years for its good food and hospitable service among tourists visiting the hill capital – has been awarded ISO 22000 – 2005 Certification (the fourth hotel property in Kandy to be bestowed with ISO certification) in two categories towards meeting the requirements of high standards of quality services expected, to be able to serve the hotel industry better.

The two categories it received recognition are for the Hotel’s capabilities of ‘Preparation and Serving of Food within its Restaurants and Room Service’ plus for ‘CIV Processing of Ambient Stable Products’.

Kandyan Arts Residency which was started by leading entrepreneur and philanthropist M.K.R Thilakaratne 12 years ago and his son Kanchana Thilekaratne – who is at present a Director of the company, and responsible in spearheading all operational and management aspects of the hotel. Kandyan Arts Residency which started off as a restaurant soon became one among the most popular entities in the restaurant sector popularly patronized by both, local and foreign visitors to the popular hill capital, Kandy.

It also attended its goals of becoming a fully-fledged residential hotel by adding thirteen rooms to its complex the same year thus providing its guests with well-appointed comfortable accommodation in addition to its already well known reputation as a restaurant serving the best cuisine in town.

Kandyan Arts Residency has an experienced staff headed by Executive Chef – A.S Dissanayake, who has a background of working for many star class hotels and managed by Chaminda Yapa Bandara who hails from a background experience of 28 years in hotel trade …..”
