Live experience designer Cyber Illusions has partnered with visual content company AV Lab to form an experiential technology collective, the Visual Art and Experiences Group (VAEG).
VAEG is a Collective that will facilitate Sri Lanka’s design aesthetic and inventiveness being introduced to the world in a big way. In fact, there are already plans in place for this Collective to help fast track the adoption of the highly specialized services offered by Cyber illusions and AV Lab in global markets.
Founded by Sanjaya Gunawardana, who is known for his cutting-edge visual designs and grand ideation, AV Lab features a dynamic team of talented motion graphic artists who specialize in creating content for live environments.
AV Lab has been successful in designing and deploying solutions such as projection mappings, augment reality experiences and holograms for local and international clients.
“Just like the name suggests, AV Lab endeavors to show the uniqueness of every project by doing its own research, concept and methodology so that every project is better than the last one,” said Gunawardana,
“A focus for VAEG is the creation of large-format visual content. And we do this in a very unique way, where content is customized to our clients, to the platform we playing on, from LED walls, to buildings, and even to the event type. Unlike other visual mediums, when you work on large-format visual content and performances, your canvas or workspace is multi-dimensional; so there are many angles for the audience to consider. Our goal is always create awe for the audience, in a short period of time,” he said.
A 10-year veteran of the creative and audio visual industry, and Managing Director of Cyber Illusions, Lalindra Amarasekara said, “VAEG is a platform that enables us to showcase Sri Lanka’s history of art, culture and inventiveness.

The VAEG collective will empower the local industry by opening up avenues for international learning and collaboration, which will ultimately benefit the entire industry.
