A prominent educationist in the Gampaha district, Crysanthus Perera, passed away on Thursday following a brief illness. He was 84.
He commenced his schooling at St. Anthony’s College, Wattala in 1944 and entered the University after passing the HSC. He later joined the College tutorial staff after obtaining his degree and later became the principal of the Primary section.
While serving St. Anthony’s College, Perera was appointed as a School Inspector in the zonal education office. He returned to St. Anthony’s College as a Vice Principal and served until retirement. His burial takes place today at the Kurukulawa Catholic cemetery.
