A man was killed yesterday morning when a mound of earth collapsed on the victim and two other workers around 10.10 a.m. According to the Police, the three men were constructing an earth embankment in Bahirawakanda, Kandy when the incident took place.
The three men were admitted to the Kandy General Hospital, where one person later succumbed to his injuries, the Police said.
The deceased has been identified as Janaka Weerasinghe, a 40-year-old resident of Katugastota.
