1 October, 2017

Kingswood College Kandy, housed at Randles Hills, is one of the oldest schools playing cricket. This season too they are blessed with a good coach and a well-balanced side. They not only possess a formidable batting line up but also have a penetrative bowling attack and are determined to give their opponents a big challenge.

Once again the Kingswoodians are fortunate to have the service of old Antonian Indika Fernando as their coach. Last year he gave his best and guided them to complete a good season. His Assistant is an old Rajan Harsha Udara a level III SLC qualified coach.

This season they played the first match against Vidyartha College which ended in a draw they also played St Thomas College, Matale and the match against Royal College were to play in Gampola due to the unavailability of a ground in Kandy was postponed due to bad weather.

This year they are led by fourth year coloursman Ganidu Kamburugam, who bats left handed in the middle order.

A fine right arm off spinner and a good close in fielder. Last season, he scored over 350 runs and pocketed 42 wickets. This year much is expected from him, both with bat and ball and also as captain. The rest of the players in the squad are Dhananjaya Maduranga, Deegayu Bandara, Uthpala Jayalath, Kashan Vithanarahchi, Madhwa Dhananjaya, Hashika Gamage, Dumindu Dhmasala, Lakmal de Silva, Harshana, Dilsha Senaratne.
