Anthonian Shiraz Zawahir first Lankan to train in Southamton SU

Mohammed Shiraz Zawahir, an old boy of St.anthony’s College,Katugastota is the first Sri lankan to undergo a Football Coaching Course at Southampton Solent University, UK where he works towards gaining his English FA coaching badges. He represents the University Football team which is coached by ex Southampton FC Academy coach, Kevin Braybrooke and represented the University football team as well.

As a school boy at St.Anthony’s College , Mohammed Shiraz represented the College Rugby team as a prop forward from U.11 – to the senior team and also the football team . After leaving College he played for Katugastota Youth where he was coached by ex Sri lankan goal keeper,Naushad Gafoor.

He will be representing Sri lanka in the upcoming South Asian Football Championship in 2018 and Asian games in the same year. Mohammed Shiraz told his dream is to help develop Sri lankan football and to manage English North Eastern footballing giants,Newcastle United which is the Club that he has supported from a very young age.
