The Embassy of the Republic of Korea presented over eight lorry-mounted 13,200-litre water bowsers to the government, at a ceremony at the Presidential Secretariat on Friday, to support the ongoing operations of the government to mitigate the drought in the country.
The items were presented to President Maithripala Sirisena by the Korean Ambassador Chang Won Sam.
The assistance was provided as a follow-up measure to the decision taken by the Korean government to provide humanitarian assistance worth USD 200,000 to Sri Lanka, during Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se’s visit to Sri Lanka in March 2017.
