The rooftop lounge on level 14 of the Ozo hotel is perhaps one of the highest points in Colombo where you can capture the iconic sunset, and then be captivated by the radiant ambience at night. Located on Marine Drive, Colombo -04, Ozo is a unique property: unlike your traditional hotel. It is one of those venues where you can really come as you are and be yourself.
The infinity pool adds to the serene chill that sustains you throughout the night. The beverage menu has a balanced choice. One of the desired drinks is the pineapple margarita, a nice variation from the standard drink.
The Bar manager is a British mixologist, who has been able to blend in our tropical fruits with standard recipes .The food is chic and highlights a concept of “relaxed comfort food’.
Their popular dish is the “Hangover” pizza. The thin crusted pizza with succulent toppings is garnished with an egg, which has to be spread prior to taking your wedge of pizza. This local rendition of Italy’s hallmark dish is genuinely creative.
Another hit on the menu is the cutlet made from “breadfruit”, which is supplemented by deep fried “nelum ala”- (lotus root) another local delicacy, and one dosent have to think too much about calories! Again the use of local ingredients with a touch of fusion is nice contrast. The dulcet tones of the blue chandelier, adds a certain aura to the lounge. Maheesha Ratnayake is the Manager of Ozo Colombo and brings with him a wealth of experience from the Caribbean and Middle East, where he worked with world famous Chef Nobu. With music by Tim Classen the resident DJ who has been spinning out his pulsating vibes for more than two decades, On 14 is a roof top venue that redefines chilling out. The magnificent views of Colombo city at night and the ships anchored out at sea are a bonus.
