Abraham Lincoln was the 18th President of the United States. He was born on February 12, 1809. His parents were Thomas and Nancy Hanks Lincoln. His mother died and his sister Sarah took care of him until their father remarried. As a young man, Lincoln took up several jobs like shopkeeper, surveyor and postman.

President Abraham Lincoln was shot dead by John Wilkes while attending a play at the Ford Theatre in Washington D.C.

He died the next day on April 15th, 1865.
