Subsidised food basket at Lak Sathosa outlets

Laksathosa will provide a food basket of essential consumer items, worth Rs. 1,515, at Rs. 975 to consumers, during the festive season through its outlets.

The government has taken this decision to relieve the public of the burden of high cost of living, during the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season.

The food basket consisting of 10 essential items could be purchased by consumers between April 10 and 20 at Sathosa outlets island-wide.

The government expects to sell one million food baskets during this period.
