Police act against big-match road hooligans

26 March, 2017

Police yesterday nabbed 22 vehicles, taking part in school big-match parades, for travelling in a manner which was obstructing other road users and vehicles, the Police Media Unit said.

The violators were nabbed by the Borella and Cinnamon Garden Police Stations.

The Police had recently strictly instructed all parties taking part in school cricket match events to refrain from behaving in a manner inconveniencing the public following the unfortunate events that occurred last week at Yasodara Balika Vidyalaya and Musaeus College, when students of Mahanama College clashed with the authorities of the girls’ schools. Police had also warned that strict action will taken against those violating the orders of the Police. See page 12
