Proteus on a high music plane

12 March, 2017

As you read this in the morning the wonderful musician Dylan Lye and the members of his impressive band Proteus will be in the midst of packing, unpacking their bags in the usual confusion of getting ready to jet back to Hong Kong, after their fabulous performances at the Curve. Dylan, Adonis, Hassan and Umara hope you will be back soon to spread the happiness your fans enjoyed. I cannot leave out Ravin Daniel who augmented Proteus as their guitarist and what an energetic guitarist he turned out to be. Good show Ravin! That we will miss Dylan Lye and his artistry there is no doubt and we eagerly await his comeback.

“I’m very happy I came. It has been a successful gig playing for the Sri Lankan audiences, they were so appreciative of our style. Our repertoire was a mix of jazz, r&b, soul – you name it we played it. Umara was wonderful. Adonis and I we arranged most of our numbers and the favourites were from Stevie Wonder and also songs like You Might Need Somebody, Cheek to Cheek the list is long. I must mention that I was happy with Ravin Daniel’s performance he picked up fast and I hope I will be able to play again with him” said a happy and smiling Dylan Lye. Safe travels Proteus – come back soon!
