Naval personnel onboard a Fast Attack Craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command arrested eight Indian fishermen along with a fishing trawler poaching in the sea area North of Pulmudai on Friday.
The arrested fishermen and trawler were handed over to the Harbour Police, Trincomalee for legal action. Meanwhile, Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba in Mannar in the North Central Naval Command arrested five Indian fishermen along with their fishing trawler poaching in the sea area Southeast of Mannar yesterday. The arrested fishermen and items were handed over to the Assistant Directors Office of Fisheries, Mannar for legal action.
