Two bodies found in Dehiwela

29 January, 2017

Dehiwala Police yesterday recovered the bodies of two men at two separate places in Badovita, Attidiya acting on a tip off. One body was found in the lake at the rear of the Eagles Lakeside Banquet and Convention Hall in Attidiya, while the other was discovered in a canal near the Badovita bridge.

Acting OIC of the Dehiwala Police, IP Rajeev Hettiarachchi told the Sunday Observer that the two deaths do not appear to be connected as the canal and lake are separated by a mesh.

The Police have been able to identify the body found in the canal as a resident of the area. “The death does not appear to be suspicious,” Hettiarachchi said, adding that the family of the deceased had last seen him on January 26 and was known to consume liquor on the banks of the canal regularly.

Any information regarding the other individual can be provided by contacting the Dehiwala Police on 0112713322.
